C-SET: Festival of Art and Discourse

Festival of Art and Discourse

Nov 25-29, 2024

The Centre for Socially Engaged Theatre (C-SET), located in the Faculty of Media, Arts and Performance at the University of Regina, invites you to the Festival of Art and Discourse – a five-day research showcase with exhibitions, talks, debates, and feature panels discussions and project presentations on policing, justice hosted by socially engaged theatre practitioners, artists, and scholars.

According to the centre’s director, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, the Canada Research Chair in Socially Engaged Theatre, the theme of the festival – Staging Justice: People, Places, Planet, and Practice – echoes the CATR/ACRT 2024 conference theme from earlier this year. The festival also includes exciting presentations by the C-SET’s graduate students, and a play-reading from the theatre performance, Past Shadows, Present Shades, a striking exploration of migrant experiences that played at the Cathedral Village Art Festival in May this year.
