About the project.

This research cluster is sector-focused and investigates issues of cultural policy, entrepreneurship, creative economy, and artist economy through community engagement.

Reimagine and rebuild prairie theatre sector-

[Future Prairie Theatre]

A web series of 10 sessions that focus on critical issues pertinent to advancing the ecology of theatre on the Prairies.

Critical Uncertainties and Future Scenarios of Prairie-based Theatre.

A SSHRC-funded research on strategic foresight of prairie-based theatre. It is housed out of the University of Calgary and the University of Regina.

Art Leadership Program.

A BIPOC performing arts program that focuses on equity, leadership and management. The program involves two phases: intensive seminars on topics of importance to the participants and mentoring opportunity for at least 12 weeks with partnering organizations. Currently, it involves different industry partners in British Columbia and Saskatchewan including C-SET.

Mapping Philanthropic landscape in art and culture sector on the Canadian Praires.

This research maps existing philanthropic support for the Canadian art and cultural sector within the prairies through the lens of equity, diversity and inclusion.It investigates ways philanthropy endeavours heightens or reduces social stratification and inequity with the art sector on the Canadian prairies.Finally, the research considers philanthropic activities what in the sector during covid-19.

Equity in Cultural policy.

Equity in Cultural Policy is a community-based research which explores the strategies employed by Indigenous, Black, and racialized cultural entrepreneurs in Western Canada to contribute to social good and community-building with their art. Participants explore an equitable cultural policy in Canada.
