About the project.

This research cluster aims to derive new understandings from intergenerational and intercultural perspectives on factors and histories that have led to the current landscape in which the racialized population in Canada experiences racism and discrimination in policing. The cluster also explores the theme of justice more broadly.

- Policing, Dialogue & Community.

This research area focuses on policing and community. Presently, there are two ongoing research projects under this core research area: Policing through the Arts: Connecting People and Communities.

Working Groups

Policing Saskatchewan: Black, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPOC) Youths Speak Out.

This research-based theatre program will open an important long-term academic, artistic and public discourse on racism, equity, identity, and policing in the province of Saskatchewan.

People, Planet and Performance: From Africa to the World.

A broad-based interdisciplinary, intercultural and cross-sectoral exploration of climate emergency, climate crisis, and climate justice within the context of theatre and performance with a focus on Africa to the world.
