Canada Research Chair in Socially Engaged Theatre.

The CRC.

The Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Socially Engaged Theatre expresses itself in different folds through:

  • Agency: A belief that agency is a necessity for social change and arts can facilitate space for such to happen and to ask better questions, find expression and build empathy.
  • Community-led: engaged arts initiatives that inspire, empower, and lead participants to acknowledge their imagination and grow their confidence to create and nurture effective strategies for their lives and communities.
  • Creative practices: (drama, theatre and performance) for debate, foster collaboration and social interaction among people and in communities.
